tidal streams and currents

Tidal Streams in your pocket

Use data for tidal streams from over 8,000 tidal stations around the globe. Ever thought checking the tide was complicated and if anything a little daunting? Well, now you’re going to love it. Select the “Tides” icon in your Savvy Navvy boating app and then tap anywhere on your nautical charts to reveal data on tidal streams, showing the strength and direction of the tide for that given location.

GFS or ECMWF Mixed? The choice is yours…

Why have one weather model when you can have many?

People can be quite specific about what they want from their marine weather forecast. That’s why we give you the option to toggle between the GFS and ECMWF Mixed.

What is a GFS weather model?

GFS stands for Global Forecast System and here’s why it’s great

GFS is a National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) marine weather model. GFS is made up of four separate models - atmosphere, land/sail, sea ice and ocean models) which are conglomerated together to create a more accurate depiction of weather conditions.

Identify seagrass areas and eco moorings

We recently launched a campaign to help protect our seabeds. Savvy members are able to see the location of existing seabeds and eco-moorings around the South West of the UK in the Savvy Navvy app. The project will build UK-wide sensitive seabed data and then focus on European waters and beyond throughout 2023-24.
